Berwick on Tweed
Berwick is an ancient fortified town on the England-Scotland border. Steeped in the history of the border conflicts Berwick as alternated between being Scottish or English depending on the ruling power at the time. Many of the sights around the town reflect the turbulent past and the fortifications protected both the harbour and the town from invasion.
